Chevrolet Series 3000 Forward Control ‘1948

There were 2 types of forward control chassis produced by Chevrolet – 3/4-ton Model 3742 and 1-ton Model 3942. The smaller one, the Dubli-Duty parcel delivery van, used the Model 3742 chassis with 125-inch wheelbase and offered sliding door convenience for numerous stops by route drivers.

Several independent body companies supplied parcel delivery bodies for the special Chevrolet package delivery chassis. The heavier version Chevrolet Stepvan on the Model 3972 chassis with 137-inch wheelbase was drawing wide acceptance from route delivery firms. The handy truck offered vast load space for light cargo, and easy entrance and exit for the driver.
