Chevrolet Series 3000 Forward Control / Step-Van ‘1955

Chevrolet initially produced its Forward Control Delivery chassis in the 3/4-ton Series 3700 form with a 125-inch wheelbase and the Series 3900 1-ton form with a 137-inch wheelbase. But in the Second Series, the 3742 model received the 137-inch wheelbase.

The new 3442 and 3542 models were used 104 and 125-inch wheelbases, respectively. All chassis were in 3/4-ton rating, and the former 3900 Series did not appear in the Second Series offerings.

These chassis were equipped with Trademaster V8 engine, rated at 155 hp and mechanical or automatic Hydra Matic transmission. In 1957 this series received the new grille treatment in factory sheetmetal. The gross vehicle weight of the 3000 Series trucks was 7,000 pounds in standard form, or 10,000 pounds with the extra-cost suspension and dual rear wheels.
