Chevrolet Model LQ 6×4
1929 -
1929
The Army had Chevrolet build a small fleet of these six wheel cross-country trucks, and used them as machine gun carriers in training exercises in the United States. The 1929 truck chassis was used, and the Dual Duty Company of Alma, Michigan built the dual drive boogie assemblies, fitting them with oversized 7.00×20 Goodrich Silvertowns. A 50 mph top speed was claimed, and the overhead valve 6-cylinder 46 hp engine was used without modifications.
