BAE Systems GTS M-ATV
In 2009, BAE Systems delivered to different prototypes of Mine Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicles — the M-ATV. The first one was the GTS M-ATV. The BAE Systems GTS M-ATV is based on the Caiman MRAP – the V-hulled vehicle based on the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV).
Modular Explosive Formed Projectile (EFP) and Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) protection systems are integrated into a highly survivable M-ATV baseline chassis. 90% of the details are unified with the FMTV range. For example, the M-ATV uses the same armor systems, power generation systems, seats, windows, and fire suppression. Unification is one of the most important components of any military range. A high degree of interchangeability of parts increases the success of field repairs.
