BAE Systems SD Brazos

In 2012, BAE Systems tried to adapt trucks of the military model range FMTV to civil sector. The resulting model was called SD Brazos. 4×4 and 6×6 trucks are designed for the hardest work and has increased reliability.

Overall dimensions of the 4×4 chassis — 6534×2440×2995 mm, 6×6 chassis — 7420×2440×2995 mm. GVW is 11 and 15 tonnes, respectively. Payload is 4.7 and 6.8 tonnes. The SD Brazos is equipped with a 6.7L 6-cylinder Cummins ISB Diesel rated at 325 hp and 1015 Nm. It is combined with an Allison 3700SP 7-speed automatic transmission.

Axles are made by ArvinMeritor. Front and rear suspensions are parabolic multi-leaf springs. The BAE Systems SD Brazos has off-road tires with size of 395/95 R20. It has air drum brakes with ABS. The cabin is standard. It has 2 seats and can be painted only in white from the factory.
