Astra HD7 / HD7/C

1996 - 2005

In 1996, Astra launched the new range of heavy-duty trucks called the HD7. Externally it can be distinguished by more streamlined cab shapes. All vehicles have a modular design, which allows to create an extensive range of models with wheel configurations from 4×2 to 8×8 and GVW from 13 to 40 tons.

Astra HD7 got strong frames, multi-speed transmissions and reliable multi-leaf spring suspensions. They are fitted with IVECO diesel engines. Inline 6-cylinder 13.8-liter develops 270, 345, 420 or 470 hp. The power of the V-8 17.2-liter engine is 440 or 520 hp.

2-axle vehicles with rear or all drive chassis are equipped with ZF 16-speed manual transmissions, power steering, and ABS. Gross weight is 18-20 tons. 3-axle versions can be equipped with a 16-speed manual gearbox or AS-Tronic electronically controlled automatic gearbox. 4-axle models are used to install special equipment – crane mechanisms, hoists, dumper, etc. Front suspension is on leaf springs, rear – spring-balanced. Gross weight is up to 46 tons.

2000 — HD7/C

In 2000, the HD7 series was replaced by the upgraded HD7/C series with a new 6-cylinder 24-valve IVECO-Cursor-13 turbodiesel. The engines comply with Euro III enviromental standard. Power range is 360, 400, 450 and 500 hp.
