Ashok Leyland Captain 4940 Euro 6

Ashok Leyland launched India’s first Euro6 Tractor Captain 4940 in Auto Expo 2016. Inspired by the ‘Made in India’, the 4940 Euro VI truck is built to exacting standards, using latest engineering and technological knowledge and meets the strict Euro VI emission norms. These norms demand a dramatic reduction in NOx and particulate matter, as low as one-tenth compared to existing Euro III.

Achieving these norms requires a significant leap in technological capability and a strong dose of Indian ingenuity. The 4940 Euro 6 truck does this using Indian innovation and offers world-class norms at Indian costs. Made by Indians for India and the world, Ashok Leyland is proud to dedicate this truck to the nation.

This is powered by Neptune 8L, engine producing 400hp power and 1600 Nm of Torque. Ashok Leyland haven’t disclosed the way the E6 is achieved but still it could be an indigenous technology with a combination of SCR. The Cab is a high deck double sleeper Captain cab with fully suspended and tilt able options. The truck features Cruise control, ABS, Alloy wheels etc.
