Albion Model 26

1933
Albion recognized that the rapidly growing bus market had different requirements, and in 1925 produced a specially designed chassis, the Viking. Building on the success of the Model 24, the Model 26 came with the new 4 cylinder 30/60 hp EN50 petrol engine and had an overall weight of 3.75 tons, which allowed a maximum legal speed of 20 mph (ca. 32 km/h) on this chassis designed for pneumatic tires only. The dropped frame bus chassis was popular with operators due to its higher speed and low loading height, and was ideal for vans or pantechnicons which were often loaded and unloaded at street level.
