Chevrolet Kodiak 2nd series ‘1989

The second generation of Kodiak and Topkick medium-duty trucks used cabins from Chevrolet/GMC C/K series pickup trucks, available with one or two rows of seats. They’ve also got a new design of the front.

There are three models with differing capacity are available – C6500, C7500 and C8500. In 1996, the Kodiak/Topkick received a version with a sloping hood. The second generation of Kodiak/Topkick medium-duty trucks was presented in 2002, but the production of this model was continued in Mexico until 2008.

Sloped hood version

Since the end of 1996 the Kodiak C6500 and C7500 trucks were available also with a sloped hood, which improved visibility from the driver’s seat. This hood was unavailable for the heaviest model C8500. The trucks with this hood have become very popular, and the design of third generation of Kodiak trucks is closely intertwined with them.
