AWD Industrial Chassis Series was essentially rebuilt standard trucks with proprietary components with original mechanical but using new modified driving axles. The range included Fire Engines, Fire Crashtenders and crane carriers.
The All Wheel Drive Industrial Chassis with its all welded structural steel frame enabled equipment to be directly mounted without a sub frame. This effects a considerably saving in height, weight and cost. Full torque P.T.O. was available.
The Industrial Chassis was available as 4×4, 6×4 and 6×6, and used by several British crane and excavator builders. Later production continued under Vickers-AWD brand name.
