1988 - 1995

With the formation of Volvo-GM Heavy Truck Corporation in 1988 with the trademark White GMC, Autocar Department continued producing the same chassis which were joined into the ACL model lineup. It included few models: from “ACL42” to “ACL84” (4×2, 4×4, 6×4, 6×6, 8×4). GVW was from 15,9 to 44,5 tons, GCVW was up to 105 tons.

They were equipped with different engines rated from 264 to525 hp, manual or automatic transmissions and cabins designed by Volvo. All products of the new company was branded as White GMC, while Autocar production was named as Autocar White GMC. Since July 1995 all White GMC trucks were produced under Volvo brand name, but the truck saved Autocar logo on the hood.
