Astra BM300

1982 - 1989

Since 1982, the production of the new Astra BM300 range began. The base model was a 24-ton dump truck BM304 (6×4) with a GVW of 33 tons with a capacity of 14 m3 and an extended 1- or 2-seater cabin developed by ItalDesign.

Based on it, the BM305 chassis, all-wheel drive 6×6 BM308 (all-wheel drive version of the BM304) and BM309 (all-wheel drive version of the BM305), BM305FP (6×4) with a GVW of 38 tons (load capacity 28.5 tons) were produced. A truck tractor BM305T for dump trailers was also in the range.

All models used FIAT (models with the letter F) or Mercedes-Benz diesels with a power of 260-354 hp, manual 16-speed ZF gearboxes or 4-speed Allison automatic gearboxes, and differentials with electro-pneumatic locking.

The BM304 and BM308 models were fitted with an inline 13.8-liter 6-cylinder Fiat Iveco 8210.02 engine rated at 260 hp or 14.6-liter Mercedes OM422 V8 rated at 280 hp. The BM305 and BM309 models got a more powerful 17.2-liter Fiat Iveco 8280.02 V8 with an output of 352 hp or 18.3-liter Mercedes OM423 V10 with a power of 355 hp.
