Ashok Leyland MBPV 4×4

Ashok Leyland MBPV 4×4 is a Medium Bullet-Proof Vehicle designed to work on rough terrain in all weather conditions. It was developed by special order from the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs to support the counter insurgency operations.

The armored vehicle is equipped with a 6-cylinder H6 diesel engine with a capacity of 183 hp at 2400 rpm and a torque of 670 Nm at 1200-1600 rpm, a 6-speed gearbox, pneumatic brake system and has Ballistic Protection against NIJ / STANAG level as per customer requirement and Underbelly Blast Protection as per customer requirement, side mine Blast Protection as percustomer requirement.

The weight of the MBPV is 10 tons, the carrying capacity is 1 ton, and the crew is 10 people including the driver. Overall dimensions – 6,882×2,500×3,000 mm.

It is already in operation with Police forces in Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab. MBPV can be a troop carrier, medical vehicle, command post, and can also deliver ammunition, cash or expensive cargo.
