Ahrens-Fox V / Y series 1
1930 -
1936
To meet the needs of cash-strapped municipalities which could no longer afford a big custom Ahrens-Fox, the company in 1930 introduced a new line of budget-priced fire apparatus built on a commercial truck chassis purchased from the Schacht Motor Truck Co. of Cincinnati. The new Ahrens-Fox model “V” / “Y” line included 500 gallon-per-minute rotary gear pumpers, combination hose and booster car, squad cars and even light duty city service ladder trucks.
