1968 - 1969

In 1968-1969 a prototype (one or two) of truck tractor with cabover design and cabin made by Motor Panels was built. The full chassis number was 3VTG6R9AE 090 Mk I. The front and rear axels were made by Leyland company. The tractor was powered by a V8 engine, coupled to a semi-automatic gearbox. The hub reduction rear axles were fitted with cross-axle and inter-axle diff locks. There was no clutch pedal and the dash showed an comprehensice array of instruments and warning lights. Also, an exhaust brake was fitted. Its development was halted by the Leyland powers-that-be and the vehicle was broken up.
