Frech cab Renault for Ukrainian truck KrAZ

The 6×4 chassis is designed to install special bodies, technological equipment used in construction, repair and maintenance of public utilities, industrial plants and roads. Exterior design of the new model is an exact copy of the French truck, with an exception of the logo “KrAZ”.

Frankly speaking, there is a withering of the Russian and Ukrainian automotive industry I see. Trucks and cars produced now became obsolete and their modernization is very slow. Our factories prefer to buy cabins and chassis elements abroad, than to develop by their selves. Rumors that the Kamaz trucks will be equipped with Actros cabins been around for a long time. ZIL several years has been showing prototypes of cabover trucks with Chinese cabs. Ural quite a long time uses IVECO cabins. Now KrAZ has been added to this list (but it has its own cabover cabin too).

The situation with engines is even worse. More or less modern engines for Russian and Ukrainian trucks are licensed copy of Renault engine made by Yaroslavl plant, or … Chinese Cummins. And it seems no one believes that our auto industry will revive. We can raise import duties on used cars higher and higher, it will not helps to our cars and trucks…
