Chevrolet Kodiak 3rd series C4500 / C5500 ‘2002

Updated Chevrolet Kodiak and GMC Topkick models were presented in 2002. The new range includes light-duty (for the first time) and medium duty versions with different design of the front. The light duty models are C4500 and C5500 with a GVW of 6-7,3 tonnes. It could work in a combination with trailer with GCVW of 9-9,7 tonnes. These trucks could be in 4×2 or all-wheel drive 4×4 wheel configurations.

Kodiak C4500 and C5500 are equipped with a gasoline V8 (8,1 l, 325 hp) or diesel (6.6 l, 300 hp) engine. Transmission is 6-speed manual ZF or 5-speed automatic Allison. The wheelbase is 3250-4930 mm with single cab, and up to 5970 mm with twin-cab. The C4500 and C5500 chassis are also used for producing of school buses, tow trucks, ambulances, fire and utility vehicles.
