In 1972, Aveling-Barford presented the new offroad dumper Centaur. The light and medium duty range included Centaur 22 with a paload of 22 tones, Centaur 25 with a payload of 25 tones, Centaur 28 with a payload of 28 tones, Centaur 35 with a payload of 35 tones and Centaur 40 with a payload of 40 tones.
Few years later Aveling-Barford replaced the designation from Centaur to RD. The new model range included:
- RD025 – payload 25 tons, Cummins NT 310 hp engine, Allison transmission. Production – 1984-1998;
- RD030/RD30 – payload 30 tons, Cummins NT 310 hp engine, Allison transmission. Production – 1984-1998;
- RD033 – payload 33 tons, GM Detroit Diesel 396 hp or Caterpillar 400 hp engine; Allison transmission. Production – 1984-1995;
- RD35/RD035/RD135 – payload 35 tons, GM Detroit Diesel 456 hp, Cummins NTA 400 hp or Caterpillar 400 hp engine, Allison transmission. Production – 1984-1995.
- RD40/RD040 – payload 40 tons, GM Detroit Diesel 456 hp, Cummins NTA 450 hp or Caterpillar 476 hp, Allison transmission. Production – 1984-1998.
- RD44 – payload 44 tons, production started in the mid 90s.
