Available T-series

1929 - 1933

The greatly expanded Available lineup of 28 vehicles in 1929 reflected the optimism that prevailed before the onset of the Great Depression, signaled, but not caused by the “Stock Market Crash” that began in the late October 1929.

Twenty-one 6 cylinder powered models reflected the continuing decline of 4-cylinder engine use. Available continued to offer the same expansive lineup for 1930, a decision again made prior to any recognition of the severety of the Great Depression.

Available’s 1931 lineup reflected the very difficult economic conditions of the Great Depression – acknowledging that while the demand for all trucks had declined significantly, the demand for larger heavy-duty capacity trucks had declined even more severely.

Available began to reduce its offerings. Of the nineteen models offered for 1931, Available offered thirteen models with a capacity below 3-tons: three 1-ton, two 1.5-ton, six 2-ton and two 2.5-ton capacity models. The 4-ton Model T-50 was Available’s largest capacity model.

Waukesha engines powered all offerings. The T-12, T-14, and T-15 featured 6-cylinder engines, four-speed transmissions, Lockheed 4-wheel hydraulic brakes, 6-inch deep frames and key speed truck features including electric starting, lighting, and ignition. Available offered six “Sturdy Six Models”, four “Big Six Models”, two 3.5 to 4-ton capacity models, and the 4-ton T-45 and the 5-ton T-50 “Maximum Duty Six Models”.
