Autocar DCU

1949 - 1960

After road tests with 20 pilot models, Autocar has developed a snub-nosed version of the standard diesel with part of the engine projecting into the cab. The new model DCU reduces the length to 106 in. One end of the engine cowl comes back through the cab and is covered with an insulated metal casing, easily removable for maintenance.

The new model comes equipped with diesel engines up to 200 hp. Three versions were available: DCU70T – 2-axle tractor with set forward front axle, DCU75T – 2-axle tractor with set back front axle, DCU9764 – 3-axle tractor with set back front axle.

Successor: Autocar DCV
