Atlas Copco Minetruck MT2000 / MT2010

2000 - n/a

Atlas Copco Wagner introduced the 20-ton underground truck Minetruck MT2000 at the MINExpo International 2000 in Las Vegas. The MT2000 offers even greater power and capacity than one of its predecessors, the Wagner MT-420.

The MT2000 carries a full 20-tonne payload, yet has a tighter turning radius than a similar Wagner vehicle, the 18-tonne capacity MT-420. The clean burning, self-tuning Detroit Diesel Series 50 engine delivers 224 kW of power (300 hp) for impressive speed on grade. A loaded MT2000 can travel 12 kilometers per hour (7 mph) on a 10 percent grade and 26 kph (16 mph) on level ground. Its 42.5-degree turn angle allows it to operate and make a 90-degree turn in a 4.2-meter drift.

The MT2000 also features upgrades in comfort and safety. A totally redesigned ergonomic operator’s compartment provides extra leg and shoulder room and better visibility. Monostick steering is simple to use and reduces operator fatigue. Optional automatic shifting is available to further enhance the ease of operation. The cabin and canopy meet MSHA requirements and provide back and overhead protection for the operator.

In 2007 Atlas Copco also has upgraded its Minetruck MT2000 to MT2010. The primary objectives were to improve serviceability and to reach higher levels of availability and reliability. This has been achieved by redesigning the electrical system and the addition of a built-in Data Collection Unit (DCU).

The new Cummins engine meets Tier III emission regulations. The DCU features an integrated warning system and an engine fault code display, as well as indicators that show when the air filters need changing.
