American LaFrance Type 17

The Type 17 is a four-wheel motor tractor for the aerial ladder. It was offered with 75- and 85-foot sizes aerial and with four-cylinder 72 hp or 6-cylinder 100 hp engine. The trucks have chain drive. Sold separately, the Type 17 tractor could be placed under former hose-drawn ladder and water towers.
