EarthRoamer XV-HD is a Ford F-650 Based RV Worth Almost $1 Million

Do you know how one could categorize the Ford F-650 and never go wrong? Well, as a freaking big vehicle. But you knew that already, so how about an RV that’s based on the F-650? Yes, it can be done.

Those familiar with the work carried out by the EarthRoamer company know the Colorado-based brand is all about big, robust recreational vehicles that can go everywhere even when the environment is hostile.

Their most popular model is the EarthRoamer XV-LTS, or should we say… was? Past tense is used best here because the EarthRoamer XV-HD was announced by the RV builder and good Lord, it looks larger than life. The behemoth is designed to accommodate eight people while maintaining top-shelf off-road capabilities but with a luxury flavor about it and comes equipped with massive solar arrays, a huge battery bank, 46-inch military tires, 200 gallons of fresh water and a washer/dryer among other amenities.

“The HD is our most innovative product yet,” says Tyler Tatro, President and COO of EarthRoamer. “It will utilize state-of-the-art construction and systems to bring comfort and functionality to the next level.” Well, we don’t know about that, but we can provide you with more specs. For example, the VX-HD RV measures 8.5 feet (2.59 meters) in width, 13 feet (3.96 meters) in height and a whopping 35 feet (10.6 meters) in length – that’s twice the size of a Mercedes-Maybach S600.

Power comes from a 6.7L PowerStroke Diesel engine churning out 330 horsepower and a bone-crushing maximum torque for 725 lb-ft (983 Nm), so yeah, driving it should be a lot like riding a mammoth. Production is scheduled to begin late 2015 but you’d better prepare your bank accounts if you want one, because it’s base price would be a ridiculous $925,000.
