At the end of 1960s-begins of 1970s, Avia added another model in the range — Avia 5000 with GVW of 7800-8000 kg. Curb weight — 2700 kg, payload — 5100 kg. Perkins 4-236 diesel rated at 88 hp at 2800 rpm was used as the engine.
Avia 5000 was available with three variants of wheelbase: 3000 mm (5000 N), 3300 mm (5000 L) and 3700 mm (5000 SL). Overall length — 5535, 5980 and 6780 mm, respectively. Width — 2098 mm. Height — 2260 mm. Tires — 7.50-16, similar to Avia 4000. In 1973, the model was updated and got a slightly redesigned front end.
