Mercedes-Benz NG / SK

12-ton tactical flatbed truck “2628A” (6×6) was equipped with 280-horsepower diesel V8 engine, used for towing a heavy howitzer FH70. Truck tractors “2636AS” (6×6), “2648S “(6×6),” 3850AS “(6×6) and 4850AS” (8×8) were used for high speed deliveries of armored vehicles on highways. The trucks were powered by V10 (355-500 hp) engines and hydromechanical 16-speed gearboxes.

GCVW of these trucks could be up to 220 tones. Maximum speed is 80-90 km/h. In 1988, the updated SK range came to replace NG.

The new SK range included tactical trucks and tank tractors with wheel configuration 6×6 (models from “2028A” to “3850AS”), and heavy chassis 3538/3644A “(8×8/8×8) with V8 and V10 engines (280-500 hp).
