DAF YA 6440

In the 1960s, DAF worked on replacing of 6×6 military trucks YA 328. In 1968, a prototype of a 5-ton 4×4 truck DAF YA 6440 was made.
It was based on a chassis of the civilian model V1600. The prototype got a flatbed cargo platform with a canopy and a steel frame to mount a machine gun over the cabin. The engine is a 6-cylinder DAF DD575 with a volume of 5750 cm3 and power of 120 hp.
The only prototype was made. The replacement to the YA 328 appeared only in the mid-70s as the YA 4440 range.
