1976 - 1987

In 1976 at the Commercial Motor Show DAFl presented 2300 DHU model with the upgraded F241 cabin and 8.25-liter turbocharged engine with an output of 230 hp at 2400 rev/min. It replaced several versions of F2200 range. The 2300 was specifically designed to fill the gap between the F2200 and 2800.

The same year the 2300 range was supplemented by 2- and 3-axis chassis 2300 DHR. In 1979, a collaborative effort of engineers from Holland and the UK became a 4-axle chassis FAD (8×4). In the early ’80s the lineup was supplemented by a special chassis FMT (6×4) for cement mixers and FAG (6×2) for refuse trucks.

In 1982, DAF introduced a lightweight 2100 model with a 8.25-liter engine with 210 hp. At the same time, new 2300 and 2500 models were shown with the second generation of 8.25-liter engine producing 250 hp.
