Production of heavy-duty Chevrolet trucks began in 2001. The Chevrolet heavy-truck range consists of the C and E Series.
The lineup includes the 2-axle CXR and EXR chassis, as well as the 3-axle CXZ, EXZ, and EYZ chassis. The heaviest version has a payload capacity of 36,200 kg.
All models are equipped with a 14-liter 6-cylinder 6WF1-TCC turbodiesel engine producing 390 hp and 1,863 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed Isuzu MJT7S manual transmission.

2002 restyling
The 2002 facelift brought a slight change to the design of the front grille. The headlights were moved lower onto a modified bumper.
