VPK
Russia: 1995 - p.t.
The VPK Group began to form in the mid-late 90s, when the acquisition or creation of the first enterprises of the future corporation laid the foundations for the formation of one of the largest defense industrial holdings in modern Russia.

In those years, the main task was to unite scattered developers and manufacturers of military products to attract infrastructure companies in order to organize comprehensive services for defense enterprises and large state holdings.

This led to the gradual formation of the contours of a new structure - the Military Industrial Company Group.

In the conditions of a deep crisis in which the Russian defense industry went in the 90s, these specific measures made it possible to prevent the forced re-profiling and often bankruptcy of a number of enterprises that ended up in the hands of scattered private owners.

And what is especially important: this ensured a greater degree of independence of Russian manufacturers of military products from imports of the component base. The economic upsurge that began in the country in the early 2000s caused the long-awaited processes of recovery in industry and science. Significant positive changes began to take place in the military-industrial complex, where specialists, investments and ideas began to return.

In search of the most effective ways to develop the defense industry, the idea arose of creating the VPK (or MIC in English) Group - a diversified investment holding, uniting developers and manufacturers of weapons and military equipment, as well as infrastructure companies providing a wide range of services to enterprises of the defense industry.

The project to create such a holding was finally implemented with the formation of a single management center for the VPK Group. On June 9, 2006, the Management Company of the VPK Group - Closed Joint Stock Company Military Industrial Company was established. This event marked a new stage in the history of the Group - the stage of close integration within a single holding. Now the military-industrial complex GC includes 16 companies.
