The Argyle company was formed in early 1970 by Argyle Diesel Electronics Limited with the express purpose of producing truck chassis to special order only in 16 tons GVW range. The competition from larger manufacturers made the small family company non-viable and it was ceased in 1973, had produced only few dozen of trucks.
