The small firm Franz Achleitner GmbH of bodies and trailer production was founded in 1932, but only in 60 years it set about the production of four-wheel armored dual purpose machines, having taken serial car and lorry chassis as the basis. It produces the 2.2-ton tactical truck Mantra 4x4 on the chassis Mercedes Benz Sprinter for the Austrian army. The firm made the bigger multi-purpose armored vehicle Protector with a spacious hermetic body on the chassis “Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer” 6x6.

Around 180 people work in the company. Annual sales are about 30 million euro. Achleiter was certified ISO9001 by the association TUV South Germany in 1998 and once again in 2001. The headquarters of the company is located in the town of Worgl (Tirol) and its production facilities are situated in the town of Radfeld. The firm produces different truck bodies to transport wood, iron, paper, bulky cargo, articles of value and trailers for race teams, and many other things.
