Freightliner eM2

At the same time with the debut of the electric Freightliner eCascadia Class 8 tractor, the company also showed the medium-duty electric truck eM2 106. It is equipped with a 480 hp electric motor, which is powered by 325 kWh batteries, which provides range of 370 kilometers (250 miles).

In just 1 hour, the batteries can be charged up to 80%, which will be enough to drive 300 kilometers (200 miles). The Freightliner eM2 is designed for local distribution, pickup-and-delivery, food and beverage delivery, and last mile logistics applications. GCVW is 18 tonnes (26,000 lbs).

The first eM2 trucks will be shipped to selected customers for a real life test as early as the end of 2018.
